After the success of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, Ryan Murphy is sinking his teeth into another season of his popular American Story franchise.

The producer is currently working on season 13 of American Horror Story. Though the show typically follows the anthology format, Murphy occasionally allows himself to revisit some of the show’s most popular themes—and it looks like Coven is primed for a comeback this year, with Ariana Grande potentially starring as a new member of the Robichaux Academy.

Is Ariana Grande in American Horror Story season 13?

On Oct. 31, 2025, American Horror Story announced that Wicked star Ariana Grande would be joining the cast for the show’s 13th season. Ryan Murphy Productions posted a simple text Reel on Instagram that listed the cast’s names in alphabetical order, including Grande.

The names were set to the song “I’ll Be Seeing You” by Vera Lynn and included some glimpses of future horrors with the message, “Surprise, bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”

Though she is a newcomer to the cast, Grande worked with Murphy on Fox’s Scream Queens in 2015.

Who will be in season 13 of American Horror Story?

In addition to Grande, the cast will include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourde, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The rest of Murphy’s regular cast seem excited to welcome Grande. In January 2026, Evan Peters told E! News, “What doesn’t she bring to the cast? She’s an incredible performer and actress, and I think that’s gonna be awesome to have her on board.”

Peters continued, “I’m excited to see what’s gonna be in the season. I haven’t read anything yet, so I’m curious what it’s gonna be, what’s it gonna have her doing. It’s exciting.” The actor previously starred in Grande’s music video for “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).”

What will season 13 of American Horror Story be about?

While there is currently no available logline for American Horror Story season 13, Murphy confirmed that it will serve as a part three to Coven. In April 2026, he revealed that Coven’s Robichaux Academy had been rebuilt, and that Paulson and Roberts will be reprising their roles as Cordelia Goode and Madison Montgomery, respectively.
