Summer may have just begun, but Meghan Quinn is dreaming of Christmas.
The steamy romance author has written everything from small-town romances to beachy flings, but she's keeping holiday fanatics well-read in recent years with "How My Neighbor Stole Christmas" and "Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal."
Quinn will celebrate her third year in the Kringletown series by bringing back a fan-favorite character. Taran gets a romance of her own in "Christmas Staycation," out Oct. 20 from Bloom Books. Keep reading to get an exclusive sneak peek of the cover, revealed by USA TODAY.
"I knew there was more to her love story than meets the eye, and I wanted a chance to give her a deeper dive and some more layers and laughs with a fake engagement plot," Quinn told USA TODAY in a statement.

Like "The Grinch" for "How My Neighbor Stole Christmas" and "Home Alone" for "Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal," "Christmas Staycation" is a riff on another beloved Christmas movie.

"I grew up loving 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation,' and the idea of trying to make the holidays as magical as possible and everything getting in your way," Quinn says. "So capturing the vibes of the Griswold family just trying to make it work was a natural fit for this next book."
The book follows the polished and careful Taran, who has agreed to a fake wedding with her ex to keep the peace in her family during the holiday season. Her ex's brother, Nolan, is a pro baseball player with a filthy mouth and "an ego the size of the North Pole" who plans to waltz right through the holidays in Kringletown. He knows Taran deserves more than his brother, and he's got an idea of who might be a better match. Between family drama and holiday hijinks, can Taran keep up the charade? Or will this "charming disaster" of a guy get in the way?
"Christmas Staycation" is available to preorder now wherever books are sold.
