Will Campbell details intense and grueling offseason knee rehab
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Will Campbell had a strong start to his rookie season, with the left tackle immediately fitting in with the offensive line and proving to be a solid protector for Drake Maye.
However, a late-season knee injury sidelined Campbell for four games, and he ultimately returned for the playoffs. But it was clear that the rookie tackle didn't look the same, and even Eliot Wolf acknowledged this at the NFL combine, saying that he didn't see the "same level of lower-body strength that you saw before the injury."
Campbell echoed this when speaking with reporters on Tuesday, revealing the grueling rehab he went through this offseason.
"Getting back healthy, I did [physical therapy] five days a week the entire offseason. Until we got back basically," he explained. "Just trying to rebuild the strength in my knee to get it back to where it was previously. And I feel like I did a good job with that."
So, does he feel like he's 100 percent healed?

"Yeah, I feel good," he replied.
There were doubts that Campbell could be the team's left tackle of the future, with some saying the Patriots should move him inside to guard. And that was further amplified when New England selected Caleb Lomu in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. However, Wolf said after the draft that Campbell is their left tackle and Lomu will likely be the future right tackle, taking over for Morgan Moses.
Everyone talks about the Year 2 jump, and Campbell's is going to be even more intriguing to see.
