Underdogs? Oregon receives predictions to upset Texas in Super Regional
The odds may not be in favor of the Oregon Ducks this weekend against Texas in the Austin Super Regional. However, that doesn't mean the Ducks are without a shot or some faith from the college baseball media.
D1Baseball made its predictions for each of the Super Regional matchups, including the Ducks' best-of-three series against the Longhorns. While the oddsmakers believe Texas is a favorite not only to advance but to win the national title, the staff at D1Baseball placed more faith in the Ducks heading into Austin.
Seven members of D1Baseball's staff predicted Oregon to emerge from the Austin Super Regional and advance to the program's first College World Series since 1954. Meanwhile, three other members and 70 percent of the public who voted went with the favored Longhorns.

The stakes are obvious for the Ducks this weekend. A spot in Omaha to compete for a championship, but also a chance to establish Oregon as a winning destination for college baseball players. There is no better program to prove that against than Texas, which has been to the College World Series more than any other program in the country and is one of the favorites to win the title again this season.
Oregon struggled two years ago in SEC country in the program's most recent trip to the Super Regionals. The Ducks lost in consecutive games to Texas A&M, but a more battle-tested group this season could have what it takes to overcome the odds.
