Signs global trade in goods starting to slow, WTO says

GENEVA, June 5 (Reuters) - The World Trade ‌Organization on Friday ‌said that while global ​merchandise trade has shown resilience in the first half of ‌2026 ⁠in the face of widespread disruption ⁠sparked by the Middle East ​conflict, there ​are ​signs growth may ‌be starting to slow.

However, the negative impact of the conflict may have been ‌partly offset ​by surging ​demand ​for electronic ‌components related to AI, ​according ​to the WTO Goods Trade Barometer ​report.
