Signs global trade in goods starting to slow, WTO says

GENEVA, June 5 (Reuters) - The World Trade Organization on Friday said that while global merchandise trade has shown resilience in the first half of 2026 in the face of widespread disruption sparked by the Middle East conflict, there are signs growth may be starting to slow.

However, the negative impact of the conflict may have been partly offset by surging demand for electronic components related to AI, according to the WTO Goods Trade Barometer report.
