Savannah Guthrie shared a sweet memory of Lady Gaga after the news broke of the Mother Monster becoming a mother herself.
On Monday, Sept. 14, the Today show covered the story that Gaga, 41, has become a first-time mom with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. Guthrie, who is mom to daughter Vale, 12, and son Charley, 9, with her husband, Mike Feldman, noted Gaga’s unique comments during her first pregnancy.

“When I was pregnant with Vale and we didn’t find out if it was a boy or a girl, Lady Gaga came on and she said, ‘I think you’re having a girl,’ ” Guthrie recalled of her 2014 interview with the “Abracadabra” singer. “And I said, ‘Really? How do you know?’ And she said, ‘She told me.’ Isn’t that cute?”

Jenna Bush Hager, who is godmother to Vale, was shocked by the anecdote, saying, “What! Vale and Lady Gaga had a connection?!”
“I know!” Guthrie replied. “They had a psychic message in utero.”
The story comes amid the news that Gaga and Polansky have welcomed their first child together. A source confirmed the news to PEOPLE that the couple are now parents, but Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has been teasing her desire to be a mom for years.

“I would like to do many things,” she said of her plans during an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
Guthrie announced her pregnancy at her wedding to Feldman.
“I — well, we — are four months pregnant,” she shared with her guests at the time.

She and Feldman later welcomed son Charley, and in 2025, Guthrie admitted she had wanted a third child.
“I would have had a third in a heartbeat, but, you know, I was up against the clock,” Guthrie told Bush Hager on Today with Jenna & Friends in March 2025.
