Pierce Brosnan is addressing those pesky rumors about drama behind the scenes of MobLand.
Amid hearsay of a feud with costar Tom Hardy, Brosnan insists that the stars are “rock solid as a company” and “as a family.”
Hardy also hugged it out with costar Helen Mirren while walking the red carpet of the show’s season 2 premiere.

Pierce Brosnan is the latest star of the crime show to set the record straight about rumors surrounding his so-called feud with co-star Tom Hardy. Earlier this year, reports emerged that Hardy would not return for a potential third season. But while attending the MobLand season 2 premiere on Sept. 10, Brosnan told the Press Association that the rumored on-set tension was nothing more than “a storm in a teacup.”
“I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy,” Brosnan told the outlet. “I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly.”
The former 007 added of the cast, which includes Dame Helen Mirren, “We are rock solid as a company, as a family.
As if to put a cap on the rumors, footage of the premiere saw Mirren and Hardy share a friendly embrace while walking the red carpet.

Hardy went on to tell reporters that he considers it a “privilege” to work with Brosnan and Mirren, adding, “They’re awesome. In many aspects of course I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me. So to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being.”
In May, Puck reported that Hardy had been fired from MobLand and wouldn’t appear in a possible third season. Further updates made it seem that his status was still being worked out with some reports suggesting that Hardy’s alleged tardiness was “frustrating” for Mirren. However, the Oscar-winner publicly insisted that she would work with Hardy again “in a f‑‑‑ing heartbeat.”
Brosnan reiterated that the castmates get along well at the premiere, adding, “Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot.”

He continued, “It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialize and go to the pub or anything like that. Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes
Since the rumors first emerged, MobLand has been renewed for a third season and it has been confirmed that Hardy will return. Mirren was the first to address Hardy’s involvement in season 3 during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, sharing, “Tom is very much in.”

She added, “We absolutely love working with this guy, we love doing the show, and we would love to continue, and that’s all there really is to it.”
MobLand stars Mirren and Brosnan as crime family matriarch and patriarch Maeve and Conrad Harrigan, while Hardy plays their street-smart fixer, Harry de Souza. In the second season, the Harrigans struggle to maintain a unified front amid rivals threatening their criminal empire. Meanwhile, Harry is navigating family tensions as loyalties are tested amid the conflict.

Mirren previously teased that the season will explore the dark layers of Maeve and Harry’s relationship, telling EW, “There’s so much danger because of what Tom does so brilliantly: He plays dangerous but so quietly, so surreptitiously, so controlled. Maeve is the absolute opposite; whatever’s on the tip of her mind just comes out. She’s very verbal, she loves put downs. So, whereas Pierce and I are toast and butter, Maeve and Harry are chalk and cheese.”
MobLand returns for its second season on Paramount+ on September 18.
