Owain Rhys Davies, a Welsh actor known for his role on "Twin Peaks: The Return," has died. He was 44.
Davies' death was confirmed by his brother Rhodri Davies in a social media post Saturday, May 30. "It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away," he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Owain, smiling and holding a beer.
While acknowledging the "great shock" of the news, Rhodri Davies added, "There are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death.
"Our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully," he said.

"The reach of Owain's love, friendship, and generosity was vast," Davies continued. "The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives."
Owain Davies' talent manager and friend, Gina Layne D'Acciaro, called him "a mega-watt talent, a consummate professional, and, personally, one of my very dearest friends."

"As much as it pains me greatly to admit he is gone, I know we all (family, friends, and fans) saw something extraordinary in him," D'Acciaro said in a statement to USA TODAY Tuesday, June 2. "Thank you all deeply for believing in our Owain… Gone far too soon."
Owain Davies played Agent Wilson across three episodes of the 2017 Showtime limited series reboot of "Twin Peaks," the critically acclaimed "Twin Peaks: The Return," featuring a returning cast directed by late creator David Lynch.
His notable work also includes voice acting, in Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" sequel "Alice Through the Looking Glass" as Delivery Frog, as well as the Studio Ghibli video game "Ni no Kuni" and "RuneScape."
His other works include the British satirical horror film "A Serial Killer's Guide to Life" and the AwesomenessTV series "My Dead Ex." Also a stage actor, he performed at The Royal National Theatre and London's West End.
Davies' brother assured followers he would share information as the family learns more and makes arrangements, amid a request for privacy.
"I am incredibly proud that, while he was my brother, he was also a brother to so many others," Rhodri Davies said. "We know that this loss will be felt by a great many people, and we take comfort in knowing how loved he was."
