Mika Abdalla and Jake Short have called off their engagement, PEOPLE confirms.
The Off Campus actress, 26, and Short, 29, are no longer together, ending their relationship after around four years.
“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” a rep for Abdalla told Us Weekly on Monday, June 1. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect."

The pair met while filming the 2022 Hulu teen comedy Sex Appeal, in which they played love interests.
After their initial meeting, Abdalla thought Short was "really cool and sweet and great," she said on The American High Podcastin August 2024.
Abdalla recalled meeting Short when they both arrived in Syracuse, N.Y. She said: "I came over just to say hi and we ended up talking — not about the script, just talking and getting to know each other for hours.”

After being introduced, they would also go over the Sex Appeal script in Abdalla's hotel room while sharing a bottle of wine. The actress revealed that they kept the bottle as a keepsake and used it to store olive oil.
Mentions of an engagement were first floated two years ago, when Short jokingly proposed to Abdalla during a July 2024 episode of the podcast.
In it, he said that Abdalla asks when they're getting married "every day" before playfully popping the question.
"Will you marry me?" he asked an off-camera Abdalla. "She said yes!"

One month later, on Abdalla's episode of The American High Podcast, the hosts jokingly offered to plan their wedding, which Abdalla accepted.
In May 2025, Short's manager Brian Medavoy claimed that they were engaged in an Instagram post. “An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance [sic] Mika Abdalla," Medavoy captioned a photo of the couple. "From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here's to forever."
Abdalla and the Disney star had not spoken publicly about their engagement before their split.
She is currently in the process of filming for the second season of Off Campus, which focuses on a romance between her character, Allie, and Dean (Stephen Kalyn, 28).

During their chemistry reads, Abdalla recalled meeting "three potential Deans," but Kalyn wasn't one of them.
"We actually did Zooms with Stephen because they didn't end up finding their Dean on that chemistry day," she told PEOPLE.
As soon as Kalyn entered the picture, she knew he was Dean. "We read with some people that were really, really great, but it was pretty unanimous. It was Stephen," she said.
Going into season 2, Abdalla says that the "insecurity that [Allie] had in the beginning of season 1 is doubled," and the same is true for Dean.
"Both of these people's fears and insecurities have just been reinforced. And so when we do get to actually explore their relationship, we're starting from an even more damaged, closed-off place," she said. "Work needs to be done."
