Josh Allen wears his Buffalo Bills' loving heart on his sleeve — well, in this case, inside his jacket.

Sought-after suit designer Tom Marchitelli spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about creating three custom looks for the star quarterback's wedding festivities with his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, in celebration of their one-year anniversary.

While the couple has largely kept wedding details private since tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, in May 2025, they celebrated their latest milestone with two unseen photos from their special day, including a shot of Allen, 30, in an ivory suit.

The ivory dinner jacket with satin lapels and a gauntlet cuff was designed by Marchitelli, who tells PEOPLE exclusively that the "super elegant" look was inspired by a 1960s Bond movie. He first started designing after Allen requested a "five-day turnaround" two weeks before the wedding.

Inside the jacket, however, Marchitelli — who's worked with Allen on his NFL tunnel walk looks for years after they first collaborated on two memorable looks for the 2023 Kentucky Derby — was sure to include his signature stitching.

"Every suit I ever make says, 'Custom design for Josh Allen,' " he shares. "When you open up the right-hand side of the jacket, there's a label there, embroidered in there," he adds of the personalized detail he stitches in all of his clients' suits.

In addition to the ivory dinner jacket, Marchitelli crafted two other looks for Allen. He designed a beige suit that the Bills quarterback wore to the welcome party and a navy look that he has yet to post publicly, both of which included a hidden detail significant to his football career.

"Number 17 was embroidered inside," he shares, a reference to Allen's Buffalo Bills jersey number. "The navy with the burgundy stripe... and the beige suit had number 17 embroidered on the opposite side of his name."

"So if you think of wearing a jacket, the right interior has the 'Custom Design for Josh Allen' label, and then my label's below it, 'Gentleman's Playbook.' The other side, the left-hand side of the jacket, is where the number 17 goes," he explains.

While Allen's wedding ceremony tuxedo was from Tom Ford, Marchitelli — who has designed and styled suits for the biggest names in sports with a client roster of 500-plus athletes across the NFL, MLB and NBA — says he was "honored" to make three of the four looks for the milestone festivities.

In fact, the custom suit designer — whose stacked roster of clients includes the likes of Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow and three-time Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce — tells PEOPLE that Allen was very collaborative on the looks.

"He had a list, boom, boom, boom — and he had photos too," he shares of Allen. "This was collaborative. He had visions. I was showing him fabrics and he's like, 'What if we put leather sleeves on this one?' And I was like, 'Josh, wow, I'm blown away... Yes, we can do that!' "

Marchitelli didn't make anything for Steinfeld, but confirms she was present for one of the fitting sessions.

"She was there," he says of the actress. "She sat in for maybe half of the appointment and had some input and then let us do our own thing for the rest of the time, but she was very sweet."

Of Allen, who welcomed his first baby with his wife in April, he adds: "He's madly in love."
