Jim Curtis gave insight into the early days of his relationship with Jennifer Aniston in a new interview with The Sunday Times.
The hypnotherapist and life coach noted that “There was a many-month friendship first” and that he “wasn’t searching for love” when they met.
He did, however, have a premonition when he was 47 years old about meeting a remarkable partner by the time he turned 50; the couple started dating when Curtis was 49.
Jim Curtis is shedding some light on the early days of his romance with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he promotes his new project, The Book of Possibility.
In a new interview with The Sunday Times published on September 12, the hypnotherapist and life coach said that, with the Friends star, “There was a many-month friendship first. The drive was more natural, more organic, less needy. In the past I’ve felt this idea of, ‘I need you to be in love with me…’ I wasn’t searching for love anymore.”
“And what do I feel now? I feel real joy, real presence, real calmness, real partnership,” Curtis continued.

While he might not have been searching for love, he was, perhaps, manifesting it. The piece opens with an anecdote about a premonition Curtis had on his 47th birthday that, by the time he turned 50 years old, he would be “with someone unlike I had ever been in a relationship with.” Curtis turned the milestone age last November, and had been dating Aniston for close to a year by that point.
Aniston and Curtis met through mutual friends and were first romantically linked in July 2025. By November of last year, The Morning Show actress spoke about him in a profile for Elle, telling the publication that “Hypnotism is one of the many things that he does.” She added of her beau that he was “very special, very normal, and very kind,” saying of him, “He’s quite extraordinary, and helps many, many people.”
Curtis, she continued, “wants to help people heal, move through their trauma and stagnation into clarity. It’s a beautiful thing to commit your life to.”

According to his interview with The Sunday Times, since dating Aniston, Curtis’s Instagram followers have doubled to 1.1 million. “I was sitting on a couch recently,” Curtis wrote in his new book, per the publication. “Which sounds normal enough until I tell you that I was sitting between Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David.”
Of his relationship with Aniston, Curtis told the publication, “We take real responsibility to go within and understand and soothe ourselves. So we meditate together. I meditate and I’ll say things like, ‘I’m divinely guided,’ meaning I don’t have to worry—it’s all working out.”
Curtis added that he is “very careful” about how he engages with his newfound fame, avoiding the news and stories about his relationship. “It’s certainly not helping me and it’s sensational,” he said. “So I have decided it’s better if I don’t look.”

Yet, he mused, “Aren’t I blessed to be of interest? And to have the opportunity that if there is a soul, person, or mind that is interested in my work, that now I have the potential to bring it to them. And that is my mission.”
Curtis has previously opened up about the origin story of his romance with Aniston, telling Craig Melvin on Today last January, “We were just introduced by friends. That’s it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat.”
“It took a long time,” he added. “We chatted for a long time and we became close.” At the time of the interview earlier this year, Curtis said that he and Aniston had been together “A long time, months now, almost close to a year.”
“I’m not going to put you on the spot anymore because you’re kind of blushing right now,” Melvin said, to which Curtis admitted, “Okay, yeah, I sure am.”

A source told Us that the couple have “moved beyond the excitement of a new relationship and are developing a genuine partnership. There’s an ease about them that’s infectious. It comes from feeling accepted rather than needing to impress each other.”
“They are more trusting and less guarded,” the insider added. “They are just as comfortable discussing difficult subjects as they are being vulnerable with each other. It’s grown from an exciting connection to a dependable partnership.”

The two are reportedly having “conversations about their long-term future” but are also “enjoying the moment,” the source said, noting that they are “definitely making decisions with the other person in mind.”
“Jen is really happy,” the insider added. “She feels supported by Jim and likes that they can have their own careers and interests, but also have so much that they enjoy doing together. The relationship feels very easy for her right now.”
