On Jan. 3, Dove Cameron posted a series of photos with her love, Måneskin frontman Damiano David. At first glance, it seemed like it may just be a typical New Year's post, but closer inspection revealed much more.
"My favourite part of being alive 💍," she captioned the post. "Happy new year."
The first picture showed David kissing the former Disney star's forehead while she closed her eyes blissfully. David holds her hand, which sports a large diamond ring. In the second photo, the Descendants star smiles up at her beau. The following image is a closer shot, while the last two photos omit the couple and focus on the engagement ring.

Alongside the well-wishes from the singer's fans were congratulations from friends.
"OMG CONGRATULATIONS 😭😭😭😭," singer Perriewrote.
"Awww my favorite couple 🥹 🥹," commented Mexican singer and actress Belinda in Spanish.
Others, like model Ivy Love Getty and musician Julia Michaels, commented with lots of heart emojis.
David posted the same photos with the caption, "It’s gonna be a beautiful year💍♥️"

Cameron and David first met in 2022 at the MTV Video Music Awards. Both Cameron and Måneskin were up for Best New Artist, but it would be Cameron who took home the award. They were reintroduced at the 2023 awards show, and David asked her to attend Måneskin's Madison Square Garden show.
Soon, the two were inseparable. The feelings associated with her new relationship also meant that Cameron had pages and pages of poetry ready to transform into her next album.
“The thing about love is it’s just, like, f*****g inspiring,” she told Nylon in June 2025. “I was enjoying this campy feminine moment that I was in, where I was suddenly someone’s girlfriend. I was very healed, very in love, feeling very safe.”
The feeling was mutual for David, who calls Cameron his "angel."
"This relationship brought this wide range of color into my life that I didn't have until that moment and really reshaped my relationship with the external world," the Italian singer said during an appearance on Lipps Service with Scott Lipps. "And also my belief in good, that, like, good things are going to happen, and good people are going to come and get into your life."
