Amanda Batula's hairstylist Olivia Halpin defended the divisive look she created for the reality star for the Summer House season 10 reunion

The ponytail-bun has been making its rounds on social media, with many criticizing the style

Amanda Batula's hairstylist is speaking out about her client's divisive hairstyle.

For the Summer House season 10 reunion —the second part of which aired on Tuesday, June 2 — Batula, 34, wore a butter yellow ensemble which she teamed with a ponytail-bun hybrid. The hairstyle quickly made the rounds on social media, with many critics deeming it too messy or informal for the occasion.

"It looks like when I pull my hair back quick to wash my face," one Reddit user wrote. Another shared, "WAIT SO THAT HAIR WAS INTENTIONAL?!"

On Tuesday, hairstylist Olivia Halpin responded to the backlash with a simple caption on Instagram. Halpin shared a series of snaps of Batula from the reunion, dubbing the hairstyle "the bun you love to hate."

Commenters on the post are divided. Some are supportive of Halpin's work, declaring how much they like the look.

"I happen to LOVE the bun," one user wrote. Another shared, "I love this bun and u sm!"

Others, however, were honest about their distaste for the style.

"Girllll the way I would never let anyone know I did this 😂," one user said.

The highly anticipated reunion addressed the newly revealed relationship between Batula and West Wilson head-on.

Batula, who announced her split from husband Kyle Cooke in January, and Wilson, who previously dated Ciara Miller in 2023 and kissed her last summer, confirmed in March that they are an item, which sent shockwaves through their cast and their fans.

During part 1, Miller, 30, confronted Batula about her decision to date her ex. "You know how f---ed up and how f---ing weird it would be, and you still did it. You chose to do it, you kept doing it," she said.

Later, in part 2, Batula admitted she was "embarrassed" to have feelings for Wilson when he was dating someone else.

"I wanted to get to a point selfishly where maybe I felt I understood what was going on, because I was going to have to be honest with Ciara, no matter what," Amanda said before adding, "I felt embarrassed to have to say I have feelings and have kissed West, and he's seeing someone else. I felt embarrassed having to say that to Ciara."
